Why Ecommerce platform is Important for your Business?

E-commerce platforms are digital applications that allow online merchants to manage their operations.  Online shopping sites allow consumers to purchase products and services. Online merchants can host their site on these platforms, manage their products, prices, and promotions, and personalize sales and services. For a business to become more profitable and large enough to manage higher volumes, its eCommerce strategy requires a solid platform.

For the growth of your Business. It plays an important role to boost your Sales.

Business Experienced with Shopify plus and Magento:

It is almost impossible to compare Magento Commerce and Shopify Plus, as each platform is best suited for a very different segment of the eCommerce platforms.

We provide in-depth comparisons that consider native features, costs of ownership, extensibility, infrastructure, SEO, eco-system, international, B2B, and much more.

Over the last 10 years, I have been part of over 50 Magento re-platforming projects in various capacities, from advising on smaller consumer brand projects to being a product consultant on highly complex builds for household Business Setup.

In addition to this, I have both Magento solutions certifications. I’ve worked with examples of Magento brands: Ebco furniture, Sigma Beauty, Helly Hansen, and lots of others.

Last 3 years I have been working for Shopify plus. Many of my clients have migrated from Magento to Shopify Plus. Shopify Plus offers a fully-hosted SaaS platform with a huge global ecosystem, as well as unrivaled flexibility when adding new features.

Shopify Plus low development cost as compared to Magento Commerce.

Top reasons to migrate Magento Commerce to Shopify Plus

Shopify Plus is becoming a popular choice for many merchants due to four key reasons. Which are listed below.

  • Scalability
  • Hosting
  • Customization
  • Security

These are the major key factors.

Shopify

1.Scalability:

E-commerce is increasing exponentially, with reliable transactions occurring every day. Merchants desire to meet customers’ needs without any interference from the third parties to their businesses. An issue common to many companies is having a platform that can cope with sudden traffic growth.

Shopify offers unlimited bandwidth with a capacity of 8,000 orders per minute. You can upgrade or downgrade your Shopify plan based on how much traffic you’re receiving. Shopify’s admin dashboard offers easy-to-install applications. Due to this, Shopify has quickly become a favorite of eCommerce merchants.

While Magento may not be as popular as WordPress, WooCommerce, or Shopify. Magento has improved its caching and website speed over the years, you should still plan the architecture based on your expected usage or traffic, which means it can’t provide unlimited Bandwidth. It has a capacity of 480 orders per minute. You need to be able to predict how much traffic you might receive so that you can build accordingly. Unfortunately, humans do not yet possess the ability to predict the future, so all we can do is guess and pray for a good outcome.

2.Hosting:

The hosting price depends greatly on the hosting provider you have taken.

The main difference between Shopify and Magento is that Shopify allows you to use fully-managed cloud-based hosting, whereas Magento requires you to find a hosting provider before you even get started. If you don’t have much experience with web development, setting up back-end architecture in your store could be quite challenging, especially when you haven’t even begun creating it yet. Hiring an expert with solid programming skills won’t be cheaper in Magento.

Shopify provides Better hosting than Magento Commerce. The price of Hosting is included in the plan, you do not have to worry about buying any hosting.

3.Customization:

Each platform offers an advanced interface that lets you edit the raw HTML/CSS code directly, giving you full control over your store’s design and appearance.

Shopify scores better here because it provides an easy-to-use menu-driven interface to change the basic attributes of your store,  such as fonts, colors, etc. Magento provides a high level of customization since all of its code is open source and all of which is modifiable. The flexibility to customize your website is however only available to web programmers and HTML/CSS coding experts.

As well, Shopify offers a theme editor with which you can customize the look and feel of your theme, as well as the ability to hide sections so that you can do future updates beforehand without duplicating the theme or working on a staging server.

Shopify offers you drag and drop sections, which is a nice way to organize your website’s content. The Magento shopping cart does not have a drag and drop functionality, but it can’t offer a much simpler design interface than Shopify does.

4.Security:

To protect your site from ever-growing hacking risks, you must have its security. You must ensure the best security measures are in place and that your store is PCI-compliant. Even if Magento offers PCI-compliant websites, merchants are solely responsible for its security. They must keep track of Magento security patches, and keep their Magento websites up to date.

During the past, Magento has been heavily criticized for security flaws, with complaints that sites can be hacked, infected with malware, etc. These are the reasons that merchants are switching to Shopify. It is better to put your time into tasks that can actually grow your business than to spend time finding potential vulnerabilities on your site.

Shopify offers top-notch security with SSL certificates. When it comes to Shopify security, you won’t have to worry about anything. Shopify is PCI DSS level 1 compliant.

Although Magento And Shopify Plus have the Same common features. but in Magento, it’s a little bit complex and without any Expert, we can’t handle the Stores and its product.

In terms of on-premise eCommerce, Magento is a little bit best. Due to its developer-friendly nature, it has a high degree of flexibility. Yet software as a service (SaaS) has changed everything. Consumers nowadays are demanding better customer experiences that are simpler and more manageable.

A new commerce solution is being developed by Shopify Plus for enterprise merchants. Retailers have the opportunity to focus their resources on new marketing ideas, customer engagement, and social influence instead of costly infrastructure and development.

As Magento 2 launches, tens of thousands of Magento 1.x clients face a hard decision: Replatform to Magento 2, or evaluate other options?

Global and Omnichannel:

In today’s business environment, merchants must reach customers and early adopters via the channels they already use. Therefore, Shopify provides eCommerce support for social networks, blogs, apps, and other third-party channels.

Shopify Plus customers can list, sell, and manage their products across over 20 channels like Facebook, Messenger, Pinterest, Instagram, and popular marketplaces like eBay, Houzz, Ebates, and Wanelo.

Using Shopify’s Sales Channel SDK, you can add commerce to mobile apps, websites, and marketplaces so users can browse millions of items wherever they are. Shopify takes care of the hard parts, such as payments, shipping, taxes, inventory, and analytics.

Shopify’s Buy Button strategy allows retailers to integrate eCommerce into any website using just a snippet of code. You can add embedded products, collections, and even an on-site shopping cart to your website in a few minutes. JavaScript Buy SDK allows you to retrieve products and collections from your shop, add products to the shopping cart, and check out.

Currently, Magento is not integrated with common social networks and marketplaces. Magento and other proprietary platforms like it will soon become redundant with the growing number of channels. One-time Magento integrations are expensive in an omnichannel selling world.

The Magento platform requires merchants to create separate store views for every currency, which means more store views to manage. It’s difficult to manage an international store natively. Additionally, only apps have the option of switching currencies.

Shopify Plus has a native multi-currency solution that can be implemented and maintained without apps on a single store. Store owners can sell in multiple currencies in one store and get paid in their own currency. There is no need for additional views.

Implementation:

In general, a new Magento 2 deployment typically takes 4–8 months, including developers, architects, deployment specialists, QA resources, etc.

The implementation of on-premise eCommerce looks very much like developing custom apps. Magento customizations are also less efficient because there is no coding standard. You can hire developers, but all the code runs in your own environment. You are responsible for managing and maintaining changes to the core architecture.

It is crucial to load test your Magento customizations, so it is possible that even if the modification is implemented and working well today, it might not work as well under peak traffic and transactions.

Shopify Plus focuses on speed. Our approach removes the need to handle eCommerce architecture, hosting, and security, which means deployments typically take 2–4 months depending on the level of complexity. By using this method, merchants can be focused on the needs of their customers.
